ANTALYA BAY INFORMATION

The Antalya Bay is the warm sea of the east Mediterranean and it is therefore the ideal destination for Old World Scuba Divers; and in fact, ever since the first expedition by the one of the pioneer to Antalya, long-ago, European divers have considered it as a choice diving area, both in winter months, when the waters of the west Mediterranean become too cold. After the first adventuresome expeditions, often organised with limited resources and an infinite spirit of adaptation, there has been a gradual development of tourism in certain areas, which have, in the course of time acquired lodging, diving centers, and charter boats specially equipped for underwater cruises. Over recent years, in particular, the phenomenon has literally exploded and the classic sites in the south, Antalya, Beldibi and Kemer have been transformed into very sophisticated and well-equipped centers that are every bit the equal of better known spots around the world. The credit for all of this is chiefly due to the political stability of the region and the convenient charter flights that link all major European cities directly with this site, reducing the time-consuming and arduous travel of years gone by to a pleasant outing of just a few hours. This incredible proliferation of tourism has naturally brought about a perilous environmental impact with the reef and its inhabitants; there could be dramatic results from so great a number of visitors on a daily basis. Fortunately, parks have been set up - such as that of Three Islands, with the specific aim of preserving and protecting from harm those areas of particular naturalistic importance. The effect of these parks has been noticeable and immediate, and even today Three Islands and other sites for diving, such as the reefs in the Strait of Beldibi or Kemer are among the finest dives, not only in the Antalya Bay, but in the whole world.

Kemer Wrack:

One of the biggest surprise for divers by the Kemer Region. It is a French Navy Ship which has slept between 22-33 metres from the sea level. She is sleeping now in her new anchored port since for World War II. Many parts of this wrack has defended. Divers need to special education for this scuba tour...

Kiris Cave Bay:

Small bay which combined with cave on sea level...

Kiris Aquarium Bay:

Wonderful bay which is combined with palm forest and sea. Beauties of travertine racks and fresh water source came from the land to the underwater.

Three Islands:

Paradise for Kemer region. They are ideal for every level divers. Deep is changing from 3 to 30 metres. Wonderful visibility, wonderful underwater treasure and wonderful underwater cave for advanced diver...
